| Field notes | Terrestrial herb, 2 m, in loose clump. Sheath yellow-green or reddish. Shoot with 12 leaves. Leaves petiolate to 8 cm, plicate, broadly ovate to elliptic, to 70 by 23 cm, young leaf below pubescent (which may disappear on old leaves). Inflorescence from base to 17 cm, with min 60 flowers. Peduncle to 5 cm, peduncular scales cream with red tips, calyx orange-red with long filiform tips, corolla and stamen red. Margin of labellum reflexed, paler red. Stigma dark purple. Taste sour. Informants did not know a name for it. (=2185). Material in spirit. |
