| Field notes | Terrestrial herb to 4.5 m. Rhizome long-creeping. All shoots in the population slender: base less than 4.5 cm. Sheath rough, grey-green. Petiole 2-3 cm. Young leaves tinged red-brown below, 60 to 16 cm, broadest at the the middle, margin wavy. Bracts red, corolla lobes bright red. Labellum pink, frilly with central yellow line. Anther red. Stigma pale pink. Taste very bitter. Deposited at: BO, WAN, AAU, E. Material also preserved in spirit. Photographed. |
