| Field notes | Terrestrial herb to 2 m. Rhizome long-creeping, 1 cm diam. Leaves petiolate 2 cm, base cuneate, unequal. Inflorescence from rhizome, near base. Peduncle 3–7 cm, peduncular bracts pale brown, bracts brown to reddish. Flowers bright red, labellum with yellow center hidden by inrolled frilled margin of lateral lobes. Anther pale red, stigma red. Vernacular name: bako teruki (Lun Dayeh): fruit edible. Taste of base bitter. (=2137). Material in spirit. |
