| Field notes | Terrestial herb to 3 m. Rhizome long-creeping. Base reddish, sheath plain green, sometimes with red patches, ligule pubescent, lamina faintly plicate, to 100 by 18 cm. Inflorescence from rhizome, with ca. 80-90 flowers, bracts cream, calyx red, flowers yellow, anther crest and stigma orange-red. Material also preserved in spirit. |
