| Field notes | Terrestial herb less than 2 m, rhizome long-crreping, forming dense stands with multiple shoots, each with up to 20 leaves. Base swollen to 2 cm, sheath green, +/- reticulate, petiole 8 mm, yellow-green. Lamina sessile, glabrous, below pale. Inflorescence from rhizome, 1-2 flowers, all red, bisexual. Taste bitte-sour. Photgraphed. Material also preserved in spirit. |
