| Field notes | Terrestrial herb to 3 m. Rhizome long-creeping. Leafy shoot pendant on moist slope near stream. Sheath base slightly reticulate, greenish brown. Ligule green, petiole 1–2 cm, leaves plicate. Inflorescence from rhizome near base, with ca. 25 flowers, bracts greenish brown, peduncle 6–12 cm, head 7 by 3 cm. Pe?als dark pink, labellum red with central yellow line 10 mm short of the apex. Stamen red, stigma dark purple. Vernacular names: tubu teladan (Kelabit): fruits nice to eat; tobo buang (Penan, buang is = ruang in BM). Material in spirit. |
