| Field notes | Terrestrial herb to 3 m in loose clump. Rhizome scales pale brown. Base diam. 5 cm. Shoot with 15–25 leaves. Sheath greenish, reticulate at base, ligule 2 cm, petiole 2–4 cm, lamina plain green, pale below, glabrous except for midrib. Inflorescence old, peduncle 1.5·7 cm, bracts green when exposed. Young fruits yellowish green. Infructescence globular 4 by 5 cm. |
