| Field notes | "Terrestrial herb to 2 m. Rhizome 2-3 cm, 30 cm between shoots, raised on stilts 30 cm above ground. Leafy shoot with 12-23 leaves. Sheath yellowish brown; ligule membranous, dead, turning white, to 4 cm; lamina dull-velvety. Inflorescence from base. Calyx red, apex filiform and spathulate. Corolla red; petal lobes dark purple; central lobe of labellum bar-shaped yellow with red apex - lateral lobes red. Stamen red, stigma white. Taste of unripe broccoli. Deposited at: Sarawak Biodiversity Centre, SAR, AAU, L. Material also preserved in spirit. Photographed. vel aff." |
