| Field notes | Terrestrial herb 3 m, rhizome long-creeping. Scales yellowish. 23 leaves per shoot, lamina dull green. Inflorescence from rhizome, bracts white with conspicuous red margin. Flowers pink, labellum with central yellow bar and lateral lobes with narrow white fringy margin. Taste is strong vegetable-like. Vernacular name in Iban: ketimbang sayur. Informed by Sudan. Deposited at: Sarawak Biodiversity Centre, SAR, AAU. Material also preserved in spirit. Photographed. |
