| Field notes | Terrastrial herb 1.8 m, in cluster. Stem reddish brown, leafless 1.5 m, leaves consistently clustered at top of shoot; petiole swollen, yellowish; lamina thick, plicate, pale below. Inflorescence from base, loose; bracts dark brown, old calyces dead, dark brown when flowering; bract and calyx pale reddish green when fresh. Flowers cream; labellum white, yellow in throat, anther white, anther crest recurved, slightly yellow. One atypical individual was found (1964B) with 60 cm, erect peduncle, flowers white. Vernacular name (in Iban):Pa’bu. It was used in the old days but did not understand for what purpose |
