| Field notes | "Terrestrial herb to 5 m, in loose clump, 20-35 cm between shoots. Shoot with 30-34 leaves. Base 6 cm diam. Sheath dark brownish green with margin covered by copper-orange hairs. Ligule densely hirsute with similar hairs; petiole 2-2.5 cm; lamina plain green with pale yellowish midrib groove, margin reddish. Infructescence at ground level, bracts yellowish green to brown. Young fruits pale red. Spice-like smell and taste. Deposited at: Sarawak Biodiversity Centre, SAR, AAU. Photographed. " |
