| Field notes | Terrestrial herb to 2 m in loose clump. Leafy shoot flattend. Sheath fleshy and loose, yellowish green, ±pubescent, marging raised. Petiole c. 5 cm, thick. Lamina corrugated with cuneate base, margin red. Bracts cream with reddish brown tips, brittle. Dissected buds reveal that calyx is red with filiform tips, petals cream with pink tips, labellum short, entire, pink with cream margin, anther cream-yellow with pink tip, stigma dark burgundy. Fruit globular, not spiny. Vernacular name (Lun Bawan): tubu laam [sour]. Informed by Labo Balang Gukang. Deposited at: Sarawak Biodiversity Centre, SAR, AAU.
