Field notes Terrestrial herb to 4 m. Rhizome long-creeping. 30 leaves per shoot. Sheath ±pubescent, brownish green. Petiole 1-2 cm, base unequal, lamina plain green, below pale. Infloresence from rhizome, sometimes more than 1 m from base of shoot, 10-20 cm (peduncle 5-10 cm). 18 flowers per infl. Bracts cream, pale purple at tip. Calyx, petals, stamen and stigma red. Labellum central lobe bifid 1.5 cm. Vernacular name (Lun Bawan): tubu talau [deer]. Informed by Labo Balang Gukang. Deposited at: Sarawak Biodiversity Centre, SAR, AAU. Material also preserved in spirit.
