| Field notes | Terrestrial herb, 3-4 m, in clump. Base reddish, sheath pubescent, lamina dark green, slightly plicate. Numerous inflorescences, adscending or mostly erect. Peduncle 2 cm acroos and 25 cm long, flowering head 20-30 cm, red. Flowers pale yellow. Infructescence visited by rodent. Vernacular name (Lun Bawan): tubu abang. Informed by Labo Balang Gukang.
