| Field notes | Terrestrial 1.5-2 m. Rhizome long-creeping. Base 4-5 cm diam, brownish green. Sheath greenish, glabrous, mottled purple towards the tip. Ligule purplish-green. Petiole 1-2 cm. Lamina plain green, pale below, base unequal. Inflorescence from rhizome, 20 cm or more from base. Peduncle 2-10 cm. Bracts cream to pale red to green (at tip exposed). Bracteole and base of corolla tube white. 24 flowers per infl. Petal lobes pink, labellum red with yellow bar appearing pale pink on the outside. Stamen sessile. Vernacular name (Lun Bawan): tubu kapal. Informed by Labo Balang Gukang. Deposited at: Sarawak Biodiversity Centre, SAR, AAU, L. Material also preserved in spirit. Photographed. |
