| Field notes | Terrestrial 2-2.5 m, in clump. Base red, sheath yellowish green. Ligule hirsute, Petiole up to 7 cm. Leaves slightly plicate, plain green, pale below. Floral bracts brownish green, calyx reddish-orange, petals red, labellum yellow. Stamen pale red, stigma dark red. Infructescence globular c. 12 cm. Vernacular name (Lun Bawan): tubu laam. Informed by Labo Balang Gukang, 8 Nov 2002 before drying the specimen. Deposited at: Sarawak Biodiversity Centre, SAR, AAU. Material also preserved in spirit. Photographed. |
