| Field notes | "Terrestrial herb 1-1.5 m. Rhizome short-creeping, c. 10 cm between shoots, stilt-rooted (0)-5-10 cm. Base 1.5-2 cm in diam., pale brown. Sheath green, glabrous; ligule 8 mm, green with purplish base; petiole 1 cm; lamina lanceolate 30 cm by 5-6 cm, plain green, below pale green, glabrous. Inflorescence from rhizome near base, c. 15 cm, erect; peduncular bracts pale brown; inflorescence bracts maroon; fertile bracts reddish. Vernacular name (Lun Bawan): tubu rari . Informed by Labo Balang Gukang, 8 Nov 2002 before drying the specimen. Deposited at: Sarawak Biodiversity Centre, SAR, AAU, L. Material also preserved in spirit. " |
