| Field notes | "Terrestrial herb, to 3 m. Base to 5 cm diam. Roots tough and stiff. Rhizome long-creeping, more than 60 cm between shoots. Base swollen, 3 cm, dark brown. Sheath green, petiole canaliculate, 2-4 cm, lamina dark green, below pale, margin undulating, base distinctly unequal. Stem and leaf brittle. Inflorescence near base, bracts purple red; flowers damaged by rain, labellum pale pink, not properly expanded. Infructescence just above soil surface (on trail) ca. 7 cm diam, pink. (=1888) Deposited at: Sarawak Biodiversity Centre, SAR, AAU." |
