| Field notes | "Terrestrial herb, to 3 m. Rhizome long-creeping, base swollen, 4-5 cm, brown. Sheath olive-green; shoot leafless 1.5 m; ligule glabrous; petiolate 1.5 cm, base distinctly unequal, lamina dark green, margin undulating. Inflorescence from rhizome near base. Flowers pale pink, petal tips pink, labellum pink to white, fringy, appears not completely open even at midday, centre yellowish pink, filament red, anther dark pink, stigma pink. Infructescence 6 cm dim wit 2 fruits only, ridged, purple red, 2.5 by 2.5 cm. Slightly sour taste. Deposited at: Sarawak Biodiversity Centre, SAR, AAU." |
