| Field notes | "Terrestrial herb, to 4 m , in clump. Base red, 4 cm diam. Sheath yellowish green at lower half - reddish brown near top; ligule yellow and fleshy when young going brown and dry with age; leaves plicate. Infructescence apical in big, brown bracts. Vernacular name in Kelabit: tubu bàung (baung = banana, referring to the pending, apical inflorescence). Informant: Maran Guna. Deposited at: Sarawak Biodiversity Centre, SAR, AAU." |
