| Field notes | "Terrestrial herb, to 4 m, in loose clump. Base globular, 6 cm diam. Sheath green; ligule green; lamina plain green, below pubescent and spotted red. Inflorescence at base, half imbedded; bracts red with whitish reticulation at base. Vernacular name in Kelabit: teladan or tubu ladan. Informant: Maran Guna.
