| Field notes | Terrestrial herb, 3 m, in cluster. Red stilt roots, rhizome raised 5-10 cm. Base red, sheath yellowish-brown. Peculiar swellings at base of petiole - clearly on young shoots also. Lamina plain green, glossy, below pale. Inflorescence up to 40 cm. Fruits elongate, cylindrical, red, calyx and bract persistent. Flowers yellow. One flower and 1 fruit from same bract. Vernacular name in Kelabit: tubu kering (bell-shaped fruit). Informant: Maran Guna. Deposited at: Sarawak Biodiversity Centre, SAR, AAU, E. |
