| Field notes | "Terrestrial herb to 3 m. Rhizome long-creeping. Base not particularly swollen, 1.5 cm. Sheath pale green, ligule green, petiole 2-3 cm, base unequal, lamina plain green, glabrous; below pale. Inflorescence from rhizome, deeply subterranean, 20 cm, of this peduncle 15 cm, scales white, bracts pale red, fertile bracts translucent, pale pink, bracteole translucent, petals membranous, pink - more dark at apex; labellum red, fringy. Stamen pale red, sessile, stigma dark red. Ca. 15-20 flowers per inflorescence. Deposited at: SAN, KEP, Sabah Parks, Universiti Malaysia Sabah, AAU." |
