| Field notes | "Terrestrial herb to 1.5 m. Rhizome long-creeping, base 2.5 cm, swollen; sheaths greenish-brown, glabrous. Young leaf pale red, ligule glabrous, (1.5)-2-3 cm, petiolate; lamina shiny, dark green, below pale reddish. 8-10 fls per infl. Bracts pale purple-brown, fls red, labellum red with central yellow up to 12 mm from tip. Stamen red. Vernacular name in Lundayeh: Tubu talau (informed later by Pengirang Balapang).
