Field notes "Terrestrial herb 2-4, in loose clump. Stem reddish-brown to yellow-green; leaves tough, yellow-green. Inflorescence apical; bracts brown, pending; calyx pale red, corolla cream or pale yellow, labellum with orange-red to purple markings, deep purple in throat, stamen yellow. Vernacular name in Lundayeh: tubu bacuk or terabak bacuk (or bakau tubu pulung (in Lun Bawang language; pulung = hutan); both informed later by Pengirang Balapang). Also called terabak pegkung (= gunung). Deposited at: SAN, KEP, Universiti Malaysia Sabah, AAU, E."
