| Field notes | "Terrestrial to 3 m. Rhizome long-creeping with brown scales. 22-24 leaves per shoot. Base 4.5 cm diam. Sheath reticulate, green, flattened in upper part; ligule ±glabrous, pointed; lamina plain green, below hirsute and pale, base attenuate, margin undulating. Inflorescence from rhizome close to the base; peduncle 5-6 cm, subterranean, white; bracts purple-burgundy, distichous; flowers red, labellum yellow in centre at infolded lateral lobes ending 12 mm from apex of central lo be. 18 fls. per infl. Vernacular name in Lundayeh: Baku, (Baku talau informed later by Pengirang Balapang). Second informant (Padan Sudai, 23 Apr, Long Mio): Tubu sidab.
