| Field notes | Terrestrila herb, c. 2 m. Rhizome long-creeping, thin. Base of leafy shoot 2-3 cm, sheath brownish-green, pubescent - reticulate at base. Lamina plain green, below pale green and pubescent particularly along midrib. Up to 20 lvs per shoot. Inflorescence subterranean with 8-10 fls. Bracts cream to pale pink with golden hairs. Calyx pink to red, petals red. Fruits golden, just below the leaf litter, few and of different size (immature or sterile?). Specimen at: SAN, KEP, Universiti Malaysia Sabah, AAU. |
