| Field notes | Terrestrial herb to 4 m. Rhizome long-creeping. Stem base c. 3 cm diam, sheath brownish-green, lower 0.5-1.5 m leafless. Ligule brown, glabrous. Leaf plain-green to dark green, young apical leaves brown. 20-40 lvs. per shoot. Old inflorescence only arising from rhizome distant form base. Taste of cabbage, faint garlic, not strong. Specimen at: SAN, KEP, Universiti Malaysia Sabah, AAU. |
