| Field notes | Terrestrial herb 4-6 m. Rhizome long-creeping and deep. Stem green. Leaves gradually increasing in size above leafless stem of 1.5 m. Inflorescence from rhizome often some distance from base. Inflorescence subterranean, loose, consisted by cream-coloured bracts. 11-15 flowers per infl. Fertile bracts semi-transparent white. Calyx white with pale pink tips. Petals pink, labellum red, not bifid. ANther and stigma red. Smell unpleasant sour-soapy. Specimen at: SAN, KEP, Universiti Malaysia Sabah, AAU. |
