Identification qualifier  
Field notes Terrestrial herb. Rhizome long-creeping. Inflorescence from rhizome between shoots, 20 cm and 50 cm away respectively, distichous; bracts purple to brown to green. 7 flowers open at a time. Petals pale purple, labellum red, lateral lobes folded in to form a funnel, almost covering a yellow central line; apical lobe completely red 13 mm from tip to end of yellow line, ovate. Material in spirit. Specimen at: SAN, KEP, Universiti Malaysia Sabah, AAU.
