| Field notes | "Terrestrial to 3-4 m. Rhizome long-creeping, bracts red, base 5 cm across. Sheaths pubescent, green with pale red blotches, red at top. Ligule pubescent. Petiole pubescent 2 cm, Lamina dark green; midrib red, pubescent, pale green with red tinge; base unequal. Young leaves pinkish red. Inflorescence less than 10 cm; peduncle 3.5 cm. Bracts pink at base - dark purple with dense white velvet at tip. Flowers pink; lateral lobes white; stigma pink. Material in spirit. Specimen at: SAN, KEP, Universiti Malaysia Sabah, AAU. |
