| Field notes | Terrestrial herb, c. 2 m. Rhizome short-creeping, leafy shoots in clump, sheaths glabrous, yellowish-green, petiole long, pubescent adaxially, lamina slightly plicate, base auriculate more or less equal; inflorescence at base, peduncle c. 4 cm, fertile bracts white to reddish brown at apex, calyx pale purple to orange-red at tip, petals pale pink to warm yellow at tip, twisted to the side, overlapping, with diffuse orange veins, labellum yellow with pale margin and lateral lobes, stamen pale red, stigma red. Fruits collected from same individual 25 June 2000, not quite ripe, greenish with a purple central dot at old calyx beak. Material in spirit. Specimen at: SAN, KEP, Sabah Parks, AAU. |
