| Field notes | "Terrestrial herb, leaves plain green, shiny, leathery, fertile bracts brown; flowers white, labellum with central yellow patch surrounded by two red striped lower in the throat. Also collected 19 July 2000. Rhizome short-creeping, less than 10 cm with many scars of decayed shoots. Each shoot with 1-3 leaves. Basal sheath (2) furrowed, purple. Ligule membranous, short. Petiole canaliculate, green. Lamina unequal, thick with pronounced secondary veins, scattered bullate, dark green; pale below. Sterile bract of inflorescence like basal sheaths: purple and deeply ribbed. Fertile bracts pale. Flowering from top to bottom. Flowers white except for labellum with a large warm yellow patch and a small dark red area in the throat. Material in spirit."Specimen at: SAN, KEP, AAU, E. |
