| Field notes | Understorey palm. 2 m high. Dbh 1.8 cm. Internodes 10 cm. Crown with 10 leaves, basal leaves about 1 m above ground. Leaves pinnate. Closed crown shaft. Petiole 15 cm long. Rachis 20 cm. 4 pairs of pinnae. Pinnae up to 20 cm long and 8 cm wide. 2 inflorescences present. Interfoliar, green. Prophyl 20 cm long. Peduncle 16 cm, Rachis 8 cm. 17 1st order branches, 16 cm long. Fruits said to be yellow.Vernacular name: Yaúnt (Shuar) Uses: Alcoholextract of fruits is in mixture with other plant extracts used as medicin against fever and malaire.
