| Field notes | Terrestrial understory treelet. No visible trunk. 14 leaves, palmate. Petiole 90 cm. Leaf blade 40 cm long and wide. Inflorescence peduncle 11 cm. Spadix/spike 3 cm in diameter, 11 cm long. Vernacular name: Púmpuná, (Shuar)Pajo Toquilla. (Spanish)Uses: Apical meristem edible. Leaves can be used for thatch (but not very common), petiole used to fabricate hats and baskets. |
